Verse I┆अवगुंठनम्
THE DRAPE
I founded Svarori with a simple belief: that beauty, when created with intention, has the power to elevate the everyday. It can quiet the mind, ground the body, and bring a sense of the ethereal into routine moments.
The name Svarori is drawn from two words that embody the brand’s philosophy. Inspired by the Sanskrit word Orisa (ओरीष), meaning elegance and adornment, it combines ‘Svar’ (स्वर) for heaven with ‘Ori’ from Orisa. Together they express a pursuit of elevated simplicity, where pieces feel serene, refined, and quietly expressive.
My path to design was unconventional. I began in a field defined by structure and precision, but it left little room for imagination. Over time I realised that I was drawn instinctively to form, texture, and material. Leaving that world was the first step toward a life that felt honest, where creation became a necessity rather than an afterthought.
Svarori emerged from that shift. It reflects my interest in movement, softness, and the quiet strength found in organic forms.
My first collection, The Drape, is shaped by the elegance I grew up around, the way fabric folds, curves, and flows with ease. The sari was my initial reference, but the inspiration extends to the broader language of drapery. I am drawn to how it wraps, how it protects, and how it becomes an extension of the body. For me, drapery represents transition, and Svarori is an expression of my own.
Svarori is guided by intention rather than perfection. Each piece is designed to feel considered, sculptural, and deeply personal, created to move with you in a quiet yet meaningful way.
When you carry Svarori, you carry an object shaped by care, clarity, and a commitment to thoughtful design. And perhaps a reminder that choosing your own path is its own form of beauty.
